- These people are sick, misguided individuals egging each other on. A study in pathetic human group behavior. Of course they should be ashamed - this is most unchristianlike behavior ever. Do they have a right to do it? Yep.

- Thank you Pat G-368908, Liz18lsu, patA and Kathy Stuart for your sensible and compassionate contribution to this discussion. I appreciate Vet POV's contribution as well, but I wonder if he or she sees what some of us have seen in our experiences with vet clinics.

- What's with this divisive poll? As if divisive politics wasn't bad enough, now dog and cat owners should fly at each other's throats? Such nonsense! Like several commentors say, I have both cats and dogs, I love both, they love each other, and there is true joy in the attributes of both.

- A terrible avoidable tragedy and a black eye to the SPCA by association. The SPCA doesn't have to fire her, but I think she should be charged with a crime the same as anyone else who does such a dispicable thing.

- I think it's wonderful to have an attractive, healthy and active First Lady in the White House. She sets a great example for us, and there's no pretension.

- The President's words were racist? Oh please. Off the cuff and ill-advised - sure. An 11-year veteran police officer can't handle an unarmed, angry older man at his home? How does he handle a domestic dispute? Good police work is all about keeping the situation calm.
